I think we should stop debating whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie and just accept that Alan Rickman is King and all his movies are so good that they should be watched on Christmas whether they have anything to do with it or not. So I have crafted what I believe to be the ultimate Christmas watch list:Christmas Eve is a full 'Harry Potter' (around 18hrs) marathon. I'll have to be up at the crack of dawn with my son anyway, might as well use the day wisely.Christmas morning kicks off with 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves' (2hr20). This is a classic, a perfect way to start the day! And I really want to see if my kid freaks out when the Sheriff orders them to "call off Christmas".Then open the presents.Followed up by 'Galaxy Quest' (1hr42). Possibly the least Christmassy option on my list, and yet the only one released on Christmas Day. If there is anyone on here who hasn't seen this movie, you're doing yourself a disservice. Then we eat!'Sense and Sensibility' (2hr16) is the movie that everyone watches when they're too full to move and need a movie that doesn't move too quickly. Period dramas are the perfect post-meal tonic. Throw in Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant, Hugh Laurie, Harriet Walter and James Fleet and you've got a serious feel-good time!We eat more. Then we watch 'Love, Actually' (2hr16), because obviously. A perfect winding down movie for the end of the day. A nice comforting(ish) movie for Granny and the kid to fall asleep to.And then actually cap the day off with 'Die Hard' (2hr12), for me and the other half.It can be adjusted for people who eat at different times, or do outrageous things like opening their presents in the afternoon. But I think it's a solid base to work from for your very own Merry Alan Rickmas. via /r/movies https://ift.tt/36mG15m
